Today marks the 30th death anniversary of the murder of John Lennon- most influential man of a generation. John Lennon was shot and killed on December 8, 1980 by Mark David Chapman outside his apartment building in New York City. It was around 10:50 PM when John Lennon was returning home from a recording session. Millions of fans will gather at a memorial garden in Central Park, New York, opposite the apartment block where he was shot dead and many will have a vigil at a new memorial in Liverpool.
