Georgina Wilson on healthy lifestyle, new advocacy

MANILA, Philippines – Even for Fil-Brit model/VJ/TV host Georgina Wilson, arguably one of the country’s prettiest personalities now, looking her best at all times takes a lot of work.

“I think the holistic healthy lifestyle is something that is such a great gift that we can give ourselves. It’s something that we all deserve,” Wilson told Bulletin Entertainment in an interview during the Garnier Pure Active launch, where she was officially named its brand ambassador.

She shared, “I like organic food. I like stuff that’s not too oily… Of course I have my ‘cheat days,’ but I also work out a lot. I work out everyday.”

For Wilson, taking care of the skin is very important, not just because it’s the first thing you notice in a person, but it boosts one’s confidence. Flawless that she is, "I don’t wake up with perfectly clear skin; I actually have to do something about it.”

“If you put a lot of stuff on your skin, you have to watch out. Like up to now, I’m very stressed or I have work every single day [where] the hours are very long, [kaya] nagbe-breakout ako [into pimples].

“It’s something that I don’t want people to go through without knowing what to do properly,” shared she, who immediately jumped at the opportunity to work with the skin care brand in order to inform people about proper skin care.

The need for information also seemed great especially since surprisingly – as Wilson related, quoting a research – the Philippines has the lowest number of users of facial hygiene products in the whole Southeast Asian region.

“[Initially] we weren’t gonna do [a big] campaign, but I think they realized the necessity to educate Filipinos. I think the way that the campaign came about, the reason, it wasn’t to sell right away products [but] it was to educate.

“It means a lot to me because it’s more than just selling a product; it’s educating the Filipinos. And that for me is more important than anything. I’ve always been very passionate about education, and that’s why this project means so much to me,” she explained.

Wilson added: “Knowing your skin [type] and having your relationship with your skin is of utmost importance if you wanna have beautiful skin. It’s not just something that, as I said, nangyayari lang. You’re not just born with it. There are things that can do for your issues; everybody has skin issues. Some people just take more time to take care of it.”

Meanwhile, asked what her personal beauty secrets are, Wilson answered, “Nothing comes easy.”

She elaborated, “You really have to take time to take care of your skin. It’s a commitment that you have to make.”
