At 15 percent, Philippine cable TV penetration rate is quite low by international standards and pales in comparison to those of Korea at 80 percent and Taiwan at 90 percent.
Best value pricing plans can reach more households, SkyCable said in a statement Thursday, noting its SkyCable Silver Prepaid plan was expanded to include the most number of digital and high definition channels made possible through digital cable technology.
Its lowest-priced postpaid plan–SkyCable 280–is the most affordable pay-TV package, relative to its number of digital channels, the company claimed. For P280 a month, SkyCable 280 airs 38 digital pay-TV channels and 18 free TV channels or 56 in all.
“We have been a pioneer of… cable services in the country in many aspects. We intend to continue to elevate Filipino families’ viewing experience with additional digital cable channels and flexible price plans,” said SkyCable managing head Ray Montinola.
“Our vision is to make cable and digital viewing as the norm, more than the exception,” Montinola added.
SkyCable gives subscribers the power to choose among the various packages and additional digital and HD channels they want based on channel preference and budget and without any hidden charges.
“What we give our subscribers is the real digital cable TV viewing experience… This is our contribution to accelerating the Filipinos’ shift to a way of life that is at par with the rest of the progressive world.” said Montinola. —VS, GMA News
