Toy collectors lined up by the dozens Thursday night at the Cosmopolitan to pick up a new series of Kidrobot figures and have them signed by two of the artists who created them.
Kidrobot began offering pop art sculpture toys in 2002. Dozens of artists create them in limited editions.
The toys retail from $5 to $25,000 and appreciate in value. Some made the collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
Thursday marked the launch of the Dunny Series 2012. Adult and child fans waited in line to buy the new items and have their collections signed by artists "Mad" and "Scribe."
"This event is going on simultaneously in all the stores across the country," said Tara Buck, retail manager of the Las Vegas store for the Cosmopolitan. The company also has stores in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, New York and London.
This year's Dunny Series contains works by 14 artists.
