Guitar legend Wally Gonzalez of Juan dela Cruz band passes away

 

MANILA -- OPM legend Wally Gonzalez passed away on Friday morning, July 23, his son, John Gonzalez, confirmed in a Facebook post. "My father Wally Gonzalez Full passed away peacefully in his sleep earlier this morning. To his friends in the music industry and off, we are arranging for a short wake so that you can visit him post-cremation, as was his last wishes. I will be posting updates soon," his son wrote. Gonzalez was one of the founding members of the legendary OPM rock band Juan dela Cruz with Mike Hanopol and the late Joey "Pepe" Smith, known for hits like "Himig Natin," "Beep Beep" and "Titser's Enemy No. 1." Gonzalez, who was also a businessman, was dubbed as "the quiet Juan dela Cruz" member because of his non-flamboyant lifestyle. A professional bluesman, he also founded the band Wally and Friends, and released solo albums. His instrumental "Wally's Blues" is considered one of the most influential songs in Pinoy rock.

R.I.P. Karl Roy


Kapatid Frontman Karl Roy is dead. He died at the age of 43. Karl Roy, a music icon, former vocalist of a well known early 90's band Advent Call and P.O.T.

Another icon in the music industry has passed away. Karl Roy died early Tuesday morning, March 13, at 1:01 a.m. (Manila Time). The news was confirmed by a Facebook message from Kathryn Roy, Karl's sister.

Kathryn wrote.

"Please continue to pray for Karl. He brought so much joy to others but, unfortunately, did not have enough of it in this life. He's in a better place now, with Lolo Pepe, Lola Conching and Daddy," she added.



According to reports, Karl Roy's real cause of death was complications due to pneumonia and he was brought to a hospital recently after allegedly having been diagnosed with Pulmonary Edema-fluid accumulation in the lungs.



Karl Roy is really a great great inspiration and i'm pretty sure the music industry will mourn the passing of a legend.

Jimi Hendrix


40 years ago, September 18, 1970 Jimi Hendrix died at the age of 27 in London. A documentary of Jimi Hendrix life has been released and it has got scenes of the guitar legend playing his favorite music for Little Richard. A number of his legendary making performances are also included in the documentary. It is Narrated by rock icon Slash, this documentary about respected and admired guitarist Jimi Hendrix features some of the famous rock musicians, and it also includes reminiscence of his Family and friends.


The life story of Jimi Hendrix will be recognized and marked whenever one of Jimi's songs are played or reproduced. There is only one Hendrix, an icon and truly one of the most respected guitarists in the music industry.
