Pink takes on malnutrition as UNICEF ambassador

UNITED NATIONS, United States—Pink was appointed on Monday as UNICEF’s newest ambassador, pledging to raise awareness about malnutrition worldwide.

“As a mom myself, it’s devastating to know that children are suffering because they don’t have adequate nutrition,” said the Grammy Award-winning singer.

“All children should be able to grow up strong and healthy, with the opportunity to reach their full potential.”


“As a UNICEF ambassador, I want to use my platform to help end global malnutrition,” which affects one in four children around the world, according to UNICEF.

Pink has a three-year-old daughter, Willow, with husband Carey Hart.

In July, Pink traveled to Haiti to see how therapeutic food can have an impact on malnourished children.

She visited an infant care center where children are treated for severe acute malnutrition.

Pink and Carey Hart's Vegas Date Night

Taking a short break from parenting duties for baby Willow, Pink and husband Carey Hart visited the early show of O by Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio Las Vegas.

Accompanied by four friends, the pop star and her group arrived to the show after dining on sushi at Yellowtail. "Pink sipped on a glass of wine during the show," an onlooker tells PEOPLE, adding that it was her first time seeing O.

But the fun didn't end there. The following night, the superstar and motocross pro took in a late performance of Zumanity – The Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil at New York-New York Hotel & Casino.

Accompanied by a group of friends, they had to make their way directly back to their hotel following the show so Pink could have some mommy time with daughter Willow.

According to an onlooker, she said, "This is the latest I've stayed out since [the baby]."

Mid-show, Hart enjoyed a glass of red wine during the show while Pink and friends stayed hydrated with bottled water.
