Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera wedding set

MANILA, Philippines—The date is set. Celebrity couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera will exchange “I do’s” before the year ends on December 30 at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City.

Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Bayani San Diego said in a tweet that Dantes said the church in Cubao was special to him.

“I was baptized in the same church. I grew up in Cubao,” Dantes said.

The actor proposed to the 29-year-old actress on national television last August 9.

The couple also expressed their intention to invite President Benigno Aquino III on their wedding day.

“We would like to have President Noynoy Aquino as ninong (godfather). But we haven’t spoken to him yet,” the 34-year-old actor said.

Marian Rivera wants 'kasal muna' before having a baby

Nagkaroon ng press visit sa second to the last day of taping ng Temptation of  Wife noong Martes, March 26.

Nitong Miyerkules Santo, ang huling taping day ng primetime series na ito ng  GMA-7.

Naabutan ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) na nakadamit pangkasal ang bida ng serye na si Marian Rivera, at nasa loob ito ng isang simbahan sa Malabon.

Palaisipan talaga kung sino ang makakatuluyan sa bandang huli ni Angeline, ang karakter na ginagampanan ni Marian.

Si Marcel ba na ginagampanan naman ni Dennis Trillo? O si Nigel na ginagampanan ni Rafael Rosell?

Tinanong namin si Marian—kung siya ang masusunod, sino nga ba kina Marcel at Nigel ang gusto niyang makatuluyan at pakasalan ni Angeline?

“Ah, paano ba? Siguro maganda rin itong ending namin. Dalawa kasi ang nakikita kong ending. Makatuluyan si Nigel kasi, si Marcel, nakita nating nagbago pero, kahit anong gawin pa rin ni Marcel, nasaktan pa rin niya si Angeline dahil ang isang tao, kapag nasaktan mo, kaya mong ulit-ulitin 'yan.

“Si Nigel, since day one, nandiyan siya para kay Angeline. Wala siyang ginawa kung hindi ipaglaban ang pagmamahal niya. Tapos, nakita naman natin  kung gaano kabait ang karakter ni Nigel dito.”

Nilinaw naman ni Marian na ang karakter na Nigel ni Rafael ang tinutukoy niya.

Aniya, “Si Nigel ang pinag-uusapan dito ha as Nigel.  So, parang deserving kasi ni Nigel na maging masaya at makamit niya ang pag-ibig na gusto niya.”

Dugtong pa ni Marian, “Si  Angeline naman, napakasalimuot ng buhay ni  Angeline at siguro, deserve rin niya ang maging masaya at meron siyang maging katuwang sa buhay.”

May posibilidad ba na wala siyang makatuluyan at pakasalan sa ending ng TOW?

Aniya, “Ang soap opera, hindi puwedeng malungkot na ending. Ang soap-opera ng mga  Filipino, palaging happy ending...

"At siguro, maganda rin yun na iwan natin ang Temptation of Wife sa mga Filipino na masaya at maganda sa mga sumusubaybay.

“The whole time, ang bigat na so para naman sa ending masaya na at may peace na.”

Yun nga lang, tila naiba na talaga nang husto sa orihinal na Temptation of  Wife sa Korea, kung saan nalunod sina Marcel at Heidi sa ending.

Ayon naman kay Marian,  “Actually, halos lahat yata rito sa Temptation, naiba lahat. At saka sa original, iba ang nangyari kay Angeline, kay Marcel, so, halos naiba talaga.

“At saka siyempre, sinasabi rin ng mga writers, siyempre, hindi natin maiiwasan na hinahanap ng mga audience natin ang original. Pero, kapag ginawa natin yun, ano pa ang magiging suspense sa kanila at ano pa ang mangyayari?

“So, alam na alam na nila.

“Kaya mas maganda na may pagka-bahid ng Pinoy ang soap opera natin at hindi nila alam kung ano ang mangyayari.”

Wedding first before baby

Sa totoo lang,  kung may ilang beses na yata siyang nagsuot ng wedding gown sa pelikula at lalo na sa mga teleserye niya.

Hindi kaya mawala na ang excitement kapag totoong kasal na niya?

“Hindi naman... Siguro, iba naman ang pakiramdam kapag totoong buhay na ang pinag-uusapan.  Kasi ito, five, four, three, cut! O dedma na. So, alam mong acting na.

“E, lahat yata ng soap opera ko at pelikula ko, may wedding gown ako,” natatawang sabi niya.

At dahil hanggang Miyerkules Santo ay may  taping pa siya, hindi pa raw alam ni Marian kung saan talaga sila magbabakasyon ni Dingdong Dantes ngayong Holy Week.

Sabi ni Marian,  “Hay naku, mag-uusap daw kami sa Wednesday o sa Thursday.”

Makakapagpa-book pa ba sila ng flight?

“Kapag maraming kakilala, madaling magpa-book,” natatawang sabi pa niya.

“Pero gusto kong umalis ng bansa.  Kasi, pagbalik ko naman, promo ng My Lady Boss at tapos, shooting ng Kung Fu Divas.

"Kasi, gusto naming matapos ang Kung Fu Divas ng April kasi, marami pang gagawin.”

May balitang "delayed' daw si Ai-Ai delas Alas?

“Talaga?” halatang natuwa namang reaksiyon ni Marian.

“Mukhang hindi naman kasi, nagpa-fight scene kami.  Pero hamo, kapag nagkita kami, tatanungin ko siya at sasabihin ko sa inyo.

"Pero kung buntis siya, masaya ko para sa kanya.”

Nabanggit naman ni Ai-Ai noong nakapanayam ito ng PEP na maging si Marian ay gusto nang magka-baby, pero dapat, kasal muna.

Ang nakangiti namang pagsang-ayon ni Marian, “Oo naman.  Siyempre, tinanong niya ko kung gusto kong magkaanak.

"Sino ba namang babae ang hindi gustong magkaanak lalo na kung may partner ka. Pero sabi ko, dapat kasal muna dahil doon magsisimula ang lahat.

Marian’s list has revenge, skin baring

Marian Rivera said she has had to reinvent herself for her part as a submissive wife in the GMA 7 drama series  “Temptation of Wife.”

“I changed even the way I talk, walk and dress up,” said Marian of her role as Angeline Santos, the submissive wife of Marcel Salcedo (Dennis Trillo). “When I turn into my alter-ego Chantal, I’ll become mataray (imperious). I’ll use a different approach, something more befitting of a woman who wants to exact revenge.”

The actress said she had read the scripts for Weeks 8 and 9 of the drama series. “They’re really very interesting. When I become Chantal, I’ll be more daring… [I’ll] bare more skin. I’ll be required to exert more effort portraying her.”

She said she found fulfillment in getting good feedback from viewers. “It really means a lot to me that people are pleased with what I’m doing in ‘Temptation of Wife.’”

Exact opposite

During a recent visit to the set of “Temptation” in Greenmeadows, Quezon City, Marian told the Inquirer that her personality is the “exact opposite” of that of Dingdong’s mom Angeline, who has the same name as the character she portrays in the drama series.

“Dong’s mom is so kind and loving. She’s often quiet. She is also a very gracious host,” Marian noted. “We’re so different because I’m loud and talkative.”

In the series, Marian has an unfaithful husband and a wicked mother-in-law. Things start to take a different turn when she discovers that her husband’s mistress is actually her best friend Heidi (played by Glaiza de Castro).

“It’s difficult to portray a wife whose husband was snatched away from her. I’m just acting the part, but I already feel the pain that a wife goes through. I pray this will not happen to me in the future,” Marian confessed. “I consider myself lucky. I know that Dong is loyal to me.”

Prepared for worst

Marian said that while she felt secure with Dingdong, she was emotionally prepared in case they don’t end up together. “I fear it. If it happens, I know it’s our destiny, and there’s a reason for it.”

The series is a remake of a 2008 Korean hit drama series. It also features Ayen Munji-Laurel and Rafael Rosell as main characters. Dominic Zapata is at the helm.

As a reward for working hard the past year, Marian said she hopes to buy a new van.  However, she said this plan could change if she pushes through with her intention to coproduce an action-comedy film with Ai-Ai de las Alas.

Marian and Dingdong in Panagbenga Festival this Sunday

A star-studded weekend is in store for Baguio City as the country’s leading station, GMA Network, is set to bring some of the hottest Kapuso stars up north to join in the city’s celebration of the Panagbenga Festival.

Legacy’s Mike Tan and My Beloved’s Ynna Asistio will kick-off the festivities at 2PM this Saturday, February 25, as they grace the “Kapusong Barangayan" happening at Brgy. Aurora Hill Baguio City.

Set to heat up the road at 8:00 am on Sunday, February 26, is My Beloved’s phenomenal loveteam and today’s hottest couple in the entertainment arena – Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera – as they banner the colorful and vibrant “Panagbenga Grand Float Parade."
